The Parent Community Partnership is celebrating the important role of parents during the 9th Annual Parents Week, Sunday, September 20 – Saturday, September 26. The week-long event is a community effort to join individuals and organizations in supporting parents throughout the year with newsletters, emails, workshops and classes. This year will feature a Parent Promise, where parents can make a commitment to their children by signing Parent Promise Posters, which will be posted at community events and area locations.
Scheduled events include a panel discussion on the role of government in supporting families (Monday, September 21, Maumee Public Library, 501 River Rd. 1:30-3p.m.), an award ceremony for winners of the “Why I Love My Parents,” essay contest (Friday, September 25, St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Main Auditorium, 2213 Cherry St., 8 a.m.), and special activities at the Toledo Museum of Art’s Family Center (Sundays noon – 5:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., 2445 Monroe St.).
