Letter From the Editor: The Countdown to Summer Begins

Preparing for long summer days

It’s fun to be a kid in Toledo, especially in the summer. Long days spent at the zoo, parks and other local places help keep kids active and entertained when school is out. I have fond childhood memories from summertime in Toledo – and there are a lot of new attractions since then. May is finally here and that’s the time to consider fun summer outings. Check out our guide to summer fun to see what the local area has to offer.

Many kids count down the days until they can go back to summer camp – a place where they make friends and explore interests in a non-academic setting. We rounded up a list of local summer camps for kids.

In this issue, we also cover the importance of summer jobs for teens and highlight a local inclusive play space.

Our giveaway this issue includes baby essentials such as a sound machine, burp cloths and a diaper caddy. Enter for a chance to win and make the newborn stage easier for the whole family! Visit toledoparent.com to find our online exclusive stories, photo contests and giveaways.

Until next time,
