Class on Antiracism Held at First Unitarian Church of Toledo

Saturdays, April 25 through May 15, from 10:30am to noon, a class on antiracism for second- and third-grade students will be offered at First Unitarian Church of Toledo, 3205 Glendale Ave., Toledo.

A $15 per child donation from participating families is requested, however, there are scholarships available and no one will be turned away for inability to pay.

Mosaic in the curriculum which was created by a multiracial team of educators.

According to a press relasese, “First Unitarian Church, a Unitarian Universalist congregation, is strongly committed to equity, justice, and dismantling systems of oppression. We view opposing injustice in all its forms as a sacred duty. One way we do that is to teach children to recognize and confront racist assumptions and beliefs.”

On April 12, there will be an optional parent orientation and informational session at 1:30pm. More details and registration is at uutoledo.org.
