On August 1, Reed Vision, one of the largest eye care providers in the Northwest Ohio/Southeast Michigan area, officially partnered with Mercy Heath Partners to become Reed Vision by Mercy. While Reed will retain the same great service and retail outlets that patients have come to rely on, the recent merger with Mercy will open several doors previously unavailable. “The eyes can be a window into other illnesses such as diabetes,” said Sarah Bednarski, Mercy’s Manager of Media Relations. “Our partnership offers more continuity of services. If the optometrists at Reed identify a problem, patients have easy and full access to the care of Mercy.” Among that range of services is the Mercy Eye Center, which contains a full diagnostic center for eye related illnesses. “This is good for both patients and Mercy. Reed Vision brings important eye care specialists to Mercy such as pediatric eye care and glaucoma specialists,” said Bednarski.
