On track for a festive time

. February 13, 2013.

Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, it’s the season to head north. Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation, Inc. is taking kids for a ride in a frozen wonderland with its North Pole Express, every weekend during the holiday season. NWORRP is dedicated to preserving the legacy and memory of railroads in our region, catering to everyone from model train enthusiasts to fans of the real thing. Their quarter-scale train rides are a regular occurrence year-round—but the North Pole Express is a chance for kids to experience something special, as they ride Engine 901 through a lovely holiday-themed landscape. It’s getting chilly, so be sure to keep your toes toasty for the outdoor ride—but kids can warm up after with hot cocoa, popcorn, and more. $2 adults, $1 children. Through December 26. Fridays, 6-9pm, Saturdays, 5-9pm, Sundays 5-8pm. (Closed Dec 24.) 11600 CR 99. 419-423-2995. www.nworrp.org.
