Area individuals who struggle to pay for proper dental care have an opportunity to get a free cleaning, extraction or filling on Friday, September 24.
Dental Excellence will host its tenth annual Free Dentistry Day on that date, offering dental services for free at both their Napoleon and Delta locations. All services will be provided on a first come, first served basis.
Registration for a visit will begin at 7:45am, with the first 100 residents who register at the Napoleon office before noon, and the first 30 residents at the Delta office who register before 11am. There will be no early registration.
The offered procedures do not traditionally come cheap. According to Cigna, the average cost of a dental cleaning can run anywhere from $90-120 without insurance. MemberBenefits.com notes that a single silver filling can cost up to $150, while a non-surgical tooth extraction can cost up to $300.
Dental Excellence has offered free dental services for a decade as a way of giving back to the community. “This day is as rewarding for us as it is for our patients,” said Dr. Michael Carpenter, founder and owner of Dental Excellence.
