Ready, set, play! When the new season kicks off for the Toledo Mud Hens next month (opening day is Thursday, April 13), your kids will be able to enjoy renovated playground equipment at Muddy’s Marsh, thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Toledo.
At a special ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, March 29, the Kiwanis Club dedicated jungle gyms and slides using elements of faux wood logs to the playground within Fifth Third Field. It’s part of the Kiwanis Club’s gift of $30,000 towards the playgrounds recent renovations and five year partnership with the Mud Hens.
After the ribbon cutting, members from the North Toledo Boys & Girls Clubs had the opportunity to run, play, and jump on the new equipment.
“For the past 100 years the Kiwanis Club has been a mainstay for service and fellowship within the Toledo Community. Our members are dedicated to serving the youth of Toledo” says Billy Mann, Club President.
In addition to the playground equipment at Muddy’s Marsh, the Kiwanis Club has partnered with the Mud Hens to provide ticket packages for central city youth to experience the fun of a baseball game.
