Sabor! The word means “taste, flavor, zest” in Portuguese, making it the perfect name for a new restaurant serving Brazilian (and some Lebanese) food. There is nothing super-spicy here; instead, subtle flavors rule. The chefs are both Brazilian-born and know the right combinations of Cajun-like spices to flavor salmon, cod, chicken, shrimp, and beef. Appetizers are enticing—Brazilian cheese bread balls, beef asparagus roll, and coxinha, a popular Brazilian snack with shredded chicken wrapped in mashed potatoes. Desserts are equally tasty, with lots of chocolate, coconut, and fruit, as well as carrot cake, Brazilian style, and flan. Zahran says his focus is on making families happy. For kids (or grown ups) who aren’t sure about Brazilian food, he invites families to take a few steps to the adjoining Braza Wings, featuring wings, gyros, and assorted starters and sides from nachos to butterfly shrimp. Sabor has a banquet room that seats 100, and a moms’ night out group will find this a perfect place to relax and enjoy good food with friends.
