This past November, Yarn Envy opened inside of Jacob’s Garden. Owners Tracey Maris and Candy Fink felt it would tie in perfectly with everything Jacob’s Garden offers.
Yarn Envy carries an extensive selection of yarns, ranging from moderately priced yarns to more expensive cashmere blends, and everything in between. Are you or your child curious about knitting? Are you coming unraveled as you struggle through your latest project?  “We have a whole variety of different classes,” said instructor Maris, who has been knitting for over 40 years.  Classes are offered for beginners through advanced level knitters, and children as young as 8 may enroll.
“I actually learned as a child myself,” said Maris who loves teaching children because they are not afraid of being wrong or trying something new.   “They’re fun,” she said.  And the classes are just as fun for kids, and rewarding. Girl Scout troops are welcome to hold their own class to complete badge requirements.
Open knitting nights, Mondays from 4-8 p.m., are a special time for knitters to relax, socialize with fellow knitters, or get assistance with a knitting issue they’re experiencing.
Located at the corner of Sterns Rd. and Whiteford Center, just east of U.S. 23.  Yarn Envy is open Mondays 2-8p.m., Tuesday-Friday 10a.m.-5p.m. and Saturdays 10a.m.-4p.m.  Contact 734-856-1015 for class schedules and more information.
