Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio is inviting the community to come out and celebrate for a good cause at its annual OcTABerfest, happening Friday, October 3, from 4-7pm. in the parking lot of the Ronald McDonald House at 3883 Monroe Street.
The free, family-friendly event is all about bringing people together for a fun evening—while helping support families with children who are staying at the House. Guests are encouraged to collect and bring aluminum can tabs, which may seem small, but add up to help cover pantry supplies and other daily essentials for families going through some of the hardest moments in their lives.
The event will feature plenty of ways to have fun—Muddy the Mud Hen, Grimace, and a few familiar McDonald’s faces will be stopping by to greet kids and take photos. Families can also enjoy local food trucks like Big Mealz on Wheelz, WOW – Waffles on Wheels, and Soda Coop, as well as a video game truck, bounce houses, face painting and hair tinsel by the Salon Institute. Local organizations including Metroparks Toledo, Imagination Station, and the Fire Safety House will also be on hand with activities and info for families.
“This event is one of our favorites because it brings everyone together in such a joyful way,” said Adam Simpson, communications and marketing Coordinator at RMHC Northwest Ohio. “Every tab donated helps us provide home-cooked meals, warm beds, and a supportive environment for families while their child is receiving care.”
Whether you’re coming with your kids, dropping off a bag of tabs, or just looking to enjoy some local food and community spirit—OcTABerfest is a chance to do something small that makes a big impact.
