Corrina Cruz’ Hada Sol Jewelry Radiates Elegance and Fun

Hada Sol offers colorful beaded jewelry, bookmarks and merchandise that are inspired by nature.

Corrina Cruz was drawn to jewelry making at a young age. The colorful beads and strings inspired her as she imagined the creations that she could fashion. “I’ve been making jewelry for as long as I can remember,” Cruz said. “My interest sparked around the age of ten years old, when my family and I would go to Mexican Town in Detroit. Stepping into the little shops, seeing the beaded jewelry, I would say to myself ‘I’m going to learn how to make that.’”

And so she did. She began collect- ing beads and string and turning them into one-of-a-kind creations. “I used to make jewelry on my bedroom floor for myself. My family, friends and people at festivals and concerts would ask where the pieces came from. I replied, ‘I made it.’ That’s when it started to take off.”

Cruz launched Hada Sol, which means “Fairy Sun”, in December 2019. She sells necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings through her online store, Hadasol.com. Many of her pieces are sized for children as well. If a customer has a hard time choosing, Cruz tells them that the item they keep going back to is the one that is meant for them. She also offers merchandise such as stickers, totes, mugs and shirts with the Hada Sol logo.

Hada Sol can also be found at local events, such as the Toledo Night Market in August. Followers of Hada Sol on Facebook can see new merchandise and receive notifications of future events. “I like to say my pieces bring out your inner fairy,” Cruz said. “Each piece is different, inspired by nature, music and flowers that can go with everyday style.”
