It was a sunny Monday morning, just before noon, and my 9-year-old held the door open for me as we walked in to Olive’s On Main to the tune of “Back In The Saddle” by Aerosmith. There is something instantly comforting about a place where “Dad Rock” is playing through the house speakers. The playlist kept rolling during our visit with tracks from bands like CCR and The Offspring, and even though it was our first time at Olive’s on Main, we felt completely welcome and relaxed.
Kid-approved food
We timed it right, because I had checked their schedule beforehand. Olive’s On Main is open everyday from 9am to 2pm. During our trip, we enjoyed the best of both worlds from the menu: ordering both brunch and lunch.
Our waitress let us know that the top sellers were the Reuben and the Pancake Taco, largely thanks to their house-made, slow-cooked shredded corned beef. We decided on the Pancake Taco, along with a burger, and some biscuits and gravy. The food was excellent across the board.
While Olive’s does offer a menu for kids 10 and under, my son opted for the main menu instead, giving a huge thumbs-up to the biscuits and gravy. He cleared his plate and helped me clear mine, a rare occurrence in our household.
A welcoming space
Olive’s On Main offers a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The staff greeted us with enthusiasm, and the chef stepped out to check on our experience. That kind of genuine hospitality is hard to come by, and the kitchen backs it up with a stacked menu featuring a great mixture of breakfast and lunch items. It’s the kind of high-quality comfort food that makes you realize why local diners so easily outshine bigger chain options.

In addition to foot traffic, the restaurant relies heavily on its catering and event services to keep things moving. They offer everything from birthdays and baby showers to graduation parties and corporate events, and you can even rent out the space after hours for private gatherings.
Olive’s on Main is a great neighborhood place run by friendly people who care deeply about the food they serve.
