Hayes Presidential offers fun online learning for all ages

. April 29, 2020.

The world is certainly living through a historical moment, but why spend that time bored at home when The Hayes Presidential Library and Museums has so much fun to offer online? The Hayes Presidential website has been updated regularly with fun and engaging activities that will keep the kids, and yourself, entertained and learning.

Links have been added to various activities that will meet the interests of all kids. Kids can access videos of staff members reading children’s books aloud, and there are also book suggestions for adults interested in various historical events. For the cook or baker in the family, there is a link to the recipes of Lucy Webb Hayes. Grab the kids and try your hand at making crumpets, french pickles, or corn bread. Any of these would add some fun to the dinner table! For the history buff there are recorded gallery talks by curators at the museum. Think you’ve got an eye for art? What about a passion for politics? The political cartoon contest for kids grades 6-8 and 9-12 has extended its submission deadline to May 31st. The winner will be featured in a special exhibit scheduled to open this summer. Looking for a game to play? You can draw your own mythical creatures with the help of an online game which is also available at the Haye Presidential Library and Museums website.

With the help of Hayes Presidential, you and your family are sure to have plenty of fun and educational activities to try out this week! Find all these activities and more here.
