Operation Surprise Attack’s (OSA) Harvest of Hope campaign to send cards and gifts to local children facing serious, rare, chronic or life-threatening health challenges is nearly over, but there is still time to contribute.
During the Harvest of Hope campaign, six children from Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan will be surprised with cards and gifts of encouragement.
The campaign runs until Oct. 12, but cards must be to OSA by Oct. 19. After OSA reviews each card and gift, they then get hand delivered to the six children the week of Oct. 26.
All cards and gifts can be mailed to Operation Surprise Attack, 27072 Carronade Drive, Suite A #307, Perrysburg, OH 43551. Make sure to include the childs name on the envelope so OSA knows who it goes to.
The Stories Behind this year’s Harvest of Hope
Landon, who is 15 years old, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) which is a fast-growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow.
Treatment can last for years and can include chemotherapy, blood tests, medications and a plethora of procedures, meaning children with ALL spend a lot of time in hospitals and around doctors.
If you’re interested in sending a card or a small gift to Landon, he’s interested in football, wrestling, card and board games, fishing, camping and swimming. Landon is also a self-taught barber and enjoys to attend church and his youth group.
Cienna, 7, and Camden, 9, live with Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders (PANDAS).

PANDAS can occur in some children after a strep throat infection when the immune system mistakenly affects the brain.
This can cause sudden changes in thoughts, feelings and behaviors, including anxiety, obsessive behaviors, tics, mood changes, trouble sleeping and difficulty concentrating.
Both Cienna and Camden see specialists in immunology, psychology and neurology, leading to frequent appointments, blood draws, medications and monthly IVIG infusions.
If you’re interested in giving some encouragement in the form of a card or small gift, Cienna enjoys skating, swimming, the outdoors, dolls, dancing and art.
Camden loves Legos, Nerf, Pokemon, Minecraft, Boy Scounts and the outdoors.
Siblings Isaac, 17, and Everly, 10, both sustained severe injuries from a car accident over the summer.
Isaac sustained multiple severe injuries and required emergency surgery, including a surgery that resulted in the partial-amputation of one of his fingers.
Everly sustained severe injuries that resulted in her becoming paralyzed from the waist down. After multiple surgeries, Everly continues to receive treatment at the University of Michigan.
If you’re interested in supporting these siblings, Isaac is interested in football, including the Denver Broncos, cooking, as he aspires to be a chef and country music, especially Morgan Wallen.
Everly loves crafting, American Girl dolls, Squishmallows, skincare and makeup. Everly also loves animals and aspires to be a veterinarian. She also has a passion for dancing and wants to open her own dance studio.
Remi, who is 4 years old, was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-cell ALL), which is a fast-growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow.
Children with T-cell ALL are susceptible to extreme tiredness, frequent infections, fevers, bruising, bleeding, pain in the joints and bones and swollen lymph nodes. These symptoms can appear quickly because the rapid multiplication of unhealthy cells leaves less room for healthy cells.
Children with T-cell ALL require frequent hospital visits for treatments including chemotherapy, medications, blood tests and a plethora of treatments.
If you’d like to share encouragement for Remi, she loves the band Twenty One Pilots, the color yellow and movies including Cars, Finding Nemo, Trolls and the Minions movies.
