Twirling candy canes and strings of candy flowers will adorn Mother Ginger and her children in this year’s 70th annual Nutcracker performed by the Toledo Ballet. The Nutcracker is a Toledo holiday tradition and this year’s anniversary celebration is no exception. The performance has invited two local celebrities, Rick Woodell, 101.5 The River DJ, and Richard P. Anderson, Andersons’ Chairman Emeritus, to the role of Mother Ginger. This year will mark Woodell’s third performance as Mother Ginger and Andersons’ first. “I am delighted to do Mother Ginger. I love The Toledo Ballet and The Nutcracker, and now I’ll be able to see it up close and personal,” said Anderson. Enjoy Woodell’s enthusiastic rendition of the role on Saturday, December 11, at 2pm and on Sunday, December 12, at 2pm. Anderson will perform on Saturday, December 12, at 2pm. www.toledoballet.net.https://www.toledoballet.net.
