changing spaces

. January 15, 2013.

The Bedford Child Development Center (BCDC) that once shared space with a local church in Lambertville has moved to a new location with plenty of space to sprawl. “We felt that we had a bigger need in the community,” said owner Cindy Maher, who had spent the last two years looking for a larger space. The new center is located on Sterns Road near Jackman in Temperance, MI. “Our building is on just over an acre of land.  We have a huge amount of space,” said Maher.  Not only is The Center able to serve up to 73 children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, but it also boasts a large outside area with plans already in the making for a greenhouse and teaching space outside year round. Ms. Maher is a strong believer in children learning through their senses as well as through play. Though BCDC is a play-based childcare center, the children in the Pre-K program leave well prepared for their first year of school. “We do give the kids one-on-one time as much as we can in the classroom,” added Maher. She loves being in the classroom with the kids and takes much pride in her dedicated staff. The center offers full day care five days a week from 6am-6pm, part time care three or four days/wk., latch key for school age children and summer programs.  For more info contact call 734-847-1985 or visit 1619 W.
