Candy for Cash

Kids usually end up with way more candy than they have any business eating. Dr. Jon Frankel of Frankel Dentistry knows about the troubles this overconsumption of sweets can cause. “Visiting your dentist twice a year and brushing daily are preventative measures,” he says, “but doing away with excess sweets all together will really give your teeth a healthy boost.”

Dr. Frankel’s office is promoting their annual Halloween Candy buyback in which kids can bring their excess candy to his office and earn $1 per pound for a good cause; Dr. Frankel gives the donated sweets to a local group that sends the candy to troops serving overseas. Last year’s event was a great success, and Dr. Frankel is hoping this year will be even better.

This event is a win-win: preventing tooth decay while teaching children about charitable contributions. Wrapped candy can be dropped off at either Frankel Dentistry location during business hours from Friday, November 1 until Friday, November 8.
