In the Deep End: Your guide to Toledo area pools

Get out your swimsuits and sunscreen and enjoy an afternoon of swimming in Toledo! Due to COVID, we saw many of our area’s most popular watering holes closed last year. But this summer, many are beginning to open their doors, diving boards and much more for families. Here’s a current list of public pools and quarries and when/if they will be open!

Plummer Pool

Opened on Saturday May 29, 2021
Residents: $3 for under 12 and $4 for 12 and older.
Non-residents: $5 for under 12 and $6 for 12 and older.
Pool hours: Mon – Fri from 11pm to 7pm, Sat. from 11am to 8pm, Sun. from 1pm to 8pm.

*For the 2021 season, due to limited deck space and social distancing requirements, Plummer Pool will be open to Recreation District Residents and Members ONLY.

Perrysburg Municipal Pool

Open Saturdays on June 5 and closes Sunday on August 15.
Pool Hours: Open daily from 1-8:30 pm 

Season passes start at $85 for city residents and $145 for township/School District. Punch cards are also available for purchase. Guest passes start at $12 per person. Kids under 5 are free. 

With the Covid-19 restrictions lifted, the City of Perrysburg has opened pool passes to the Perrysburg Township/School District as in the past, allowing guests and selling punch cards. Anyone under 10 years old will need an adult with them.

Rolf Park Pool

Open only to Maumee Residents and Maumee School District; proof of residence is required. Opens on Thursday, June 10 and closes for the season on August 15, 2021.
Pool hours:
Monday & Wednesday 12pm to 5:45pm
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 12pm – 7pm
Saturday and Sunday 12pm – 6pm
Admission fee: Season admission is $50 per family member in the same household. Single daily admission for residents is based on height. $5, less than 48 in.; $8, 48 in. and up. No pool parties for 2021 season.

Centennial Quarry

Due to Covid restrictions The Bowling Green City Pool and Water Park will only be open to Resident and Non-Resident Season Pass Holders. Daily admission passes are not available to people to purchase until further notice.  All pool visitors must be seasonal pass holders.  This is subject to change based on CDC guidelines.

Coontz Recreation Center Splash Pad

East Harbor State Park Beach

Prefer the feeling of sand between your toes? Pack a picnic and head out to East Harbor State Park and its 1,500-foot sand beach. Masks are not required at this time, though the state park is operating in conjunction with guidelines outlined by the Ohio Governor’s office.

An adult day pass is $24.50, and admission is free for kids aged 12 and under and adults 90 or older. Please be advised that the dock and splash pad are currently closed after the storm damage that occurred in late May, 2021. The splash pad and baby pool should be opening soon, however. Give the facility a call for the latest updates on its reopening. No masks are required.

Maumee Bay State Park

This 1,336-acre recreational facility offers a little something for everyone. Maumee Bay boasts two sand beaches, one on Lake Erie’s shore and one on a lake within the park.

Rolling Hills Water Park

The pool opens on June 21, 2021 with limited capacity, so make sure to call before heading over. Open noon-7pm every day, find time to stop in and soak up the sun! Admission is $10.

Thorn Park Splash Pad

The splash pad is open at 50 percent capacity due to COVID, so give them a call to make sure they are open before you go. Admission is $2/hr. The park is open 11am-1pm, 1:30-3:30, and 4-6pm for Brownstown residents.

White Star Quarry

Admission to the grounds is free. The fee to scuba dive is $20 per person per day, and swimming at the beach is $2 for kids ages 3-12 years, and $4 for individuals aged 13 and up. Scuba concessions, such as oxygen refills, and equipment rentals are also available. Other area activities include camping, hiking, and fishing. There are no COVID restrictions at this time.

Olander Park

Lake Olander swim and beach facilities are open Wednesdays through Sundays and holidays 12-6pm at limited capacity due to COVID. The authentic sand beach is overseen by lifeguards. Children 2 and under are free, while Sylvania School District residents are $3/person. All other guests are $5.

Toledo Zoo: Cool Zone
