Get the family together for a night away from screens at the “Yes, and… Together” improv workshop put on by BrightSpot Families.
On Sept. 17 from 6:30-7:30 pm at 165 N. Main St., Bowling Green, families with kids ages 6-12 are encouraged to sign up for this improv workshop.
“We’re offering an improv workshop for a parent-and-child duo with enough spots for 15 pairs,” said Andrea Mata, owner of BrightSpot Families.
The workshop costs $47 per pair, which includes the workshop, games and a snack of Insomnia Cookies.
While the event is a way for parents to have fun with their child, it also strengthens the connection between the pair.

“It’s going to help with parent-child communication. It’s going to give them a common language in order to have fun because a lot of the time, what’s going on right now is that parenting feels like a drag and there’s not a whole lot of fun going on,” Mata said. “But I think teaching them these improv strategies and techniques is going to open the door for parents and kids to be able to have fun together again.”
Along with the bond between parents and their children, the workshop also helps the pair practice listening, problem-solving, creativity skills and tuning into emotions.
