Libraries offer free gunlocks

Gun locks are now available for free at all Toledo Lucas County Public Library locations. Anyone 18 years old and older can receive up to two gunlocks. The distribution of these locks is from a partnership between Toledo City Council, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Ann Arbor Health Care System.

Toledo upgrades parks this summer

This summer, over $4 million will go towards park restoration projects in Toledo. Rev. H.V. Savage Park at 650 Nebraska Ave. is in the midst of a $2.1 million project to transform the Park and its amenities. Additionally, ten other parks will be undergoing renovations and additions.

Zepf Center’s youth shelter celebrates 10 years of service

The Zepf Center recently celebrated 10 years of Safety Net, the organization’s runaway and homeless youth shelter at 2005 Ashland Avenue. Since opening in 2016, Safety Net has provided 2,476 stays for youth in crisis, while serving 1,449 individual youth. The shelter has provided a total of 19,554 days of shelter and safety for local youth.
