
Sylvania Board of Education Appoints New Superintendent
Sylvania Schools has hired Tim Zieroff as the next Superintendent. Zieroff has been in the district for 15 years, the last 9 in the role of assistant superintendent. In August 2026, Zieroff will take over the position once Superintendent Veronica Motley retires.
ProMedica to Move Obstetrics From Flower Hospital to Toledo Hospital
ProMedica has transitioned obstetrics services from ProMedica Flower Hospital to ProMedica Toledo Hospital, located about eight miles away, as part of a plan to strengthen its inpatient OB program. The shift was completed by the end of 2025, with additional details to come as the transition continues. The consolidation is intended to help attract more providers and to better position the system to meet future needs. While Flower Hospital will no longer offer inpatient OB care, outpatient services will remain.
Ohio Expands Mobile Crisis Services for Youth in All 88 Counties
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has announced a major statewide expansion of the state’s youth behavioral health crisis system. For the first time, Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) are now available in all 88 Ohio counties, delivering fast, in-person help for children and young adults, ages 20 and under, who are experiencing mental, emotional or behavioral distress. New Goodwill store comes to Sylvania
The 16th retail store for Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio will open in early 2026. The new 14,000-square-foot store will be located at 7504 W. Central Avenue. “Our stores are more than great places to shop—they help fund workforce development programs that assist individuals overcome barriers to employment,” said Amy Wachob, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio, in a press release.
