Giving autism the boot


Local runners are gearing up for the 34th annual Glass City Marathon on Sunday, April 25. Sponsored by the University of Toledo and WTOL-Channel 11, the event features a new course, taking participants through quaint and eclectic neighborhoods, beautiful Metroparks trails and the University of Toledo campus. The Glass City Marathon has established a partnership with the Great Lakes Center for Autism, a non-profit organization that works within the community to promote awareness of autism, collaborating with community partners to provide programming, services and support for those affected by autism. The race offers something for every level of participant — a marathon, a half marathon, a 5-person marathon relay, a 5k race and two kids races. Normal and late registration is available until April 24 at No registrations will be accepted on race day.
