Findlay’s own Cooper Tire and Rubber Company is going to work overtime to make sure some kids’ Christmases are very merry and bright. The Cooper Tire Foundation, the company’s philanthropic division, has announced it will be donating 10,000 miniature cars, trucks and other toy vehicles to Toys for Tots this holiday season.
The Foundation has selected Toys for Tots as its designated national charity for the year. In addition to the toy vehicles, Cooper Tire will also be making a cash gift to the organization and collect a variety of toys at its offices, manufacturing plants and technical centers in the US, so employees can donate themselves.
On Giving Tuesday, December 1, Cooper Tire will also donate two dollars for every dollar donated to Toys for Tots by Cooper employees.
The Toys for Tots program is run by the United States Marine Corps Preserve, and is aimed at distributing toys to needy children during the Christmas season. The organization has been around since 1947.
