Making the Ice Accessible: Adaptive Ice Sleds

Now ice fans of any ability can enjoy a day of skating outdoors in the Toledo area. The Ottawa Park State Rink, the community’s only open-air skating rink, opened for the season on January 7, introducing two new adaptive ice sleds.

The sleds, which give skaters a chance to enjoy the ice while seated for extra stability, provide accessibility for anyone interested in hitting the rink or even playing a game of hockey. Ottawa Park will be observing all COVID guidelines throughout the season. For the latest information about hours and protocols, visit the Ottawa Park Ice Rink website.
