The old joke goes: “How do you get to Carnegie Hall?” “Practice.” Three Toledo School for the Arts students found their own when after applying to play in the great hall. Members from Carnegie selected students from hundreds of applicants to perform on February 3 in NYC as part of the Carnegie Hall High School Honors Orchestra and Band, with students from around the world. Violinists, Pilar Athaide-Victor and Cole Habekost, and oboist Isabel Weningm trained daily under instructors Jay Welenc and Diana Anderson in preparation for Carnegie.
