Maumee Valley Country Day juniors Genna Davis, Delaney Lonsway and Kristin Bigelow studied the civil war in Uganda and were particularly moved to end the use of abducted children as child soldiers. Learning about these war crimes during an elective class at Maumee Valley during middle school, the students became passionate about creating awareness and support for an organization called Invisible Childen. The organization is dedicated to promoting peace and prosperity in Uganda. After contacting Invisible Children, the students became active in their Schools for Schools program, even creating a club at Maumee Valley to raise funds. On October 1st, a group of six Invisible Children “Roadies” came to speak at the school and shared their own personal stories of how the war in Uganda has affected them personally. 1715 S.
